The coffee plantations in this region began during the colonial era, it was the farmers who brought the first coffee seeds in the community in order to produce coffee for export. The whole population is engaged in agricultural production, with the majority of producers being women and coffee contributing as the primary source of income in the area. In recent years, villagers have introduced macadamia and plantains as a means to diversify their agricultural land. A trip to these secluded areas can take up to two hours by car and poor road conditions make it difficult to access these villages, making this organic coffee very limited and special for us.
